Skin Sensitivity & Allergic Reactions
- Patch Test: Always perform a patch test before first use, especially if you have sensitive skin. Apply a small amount to your inner arm or behind your ear and wait 24 hours to check for any redness, itching, or irritation.
- Fragrance: Both formulas contain Fragrance, a common irritant. If you have known sensitivities or conditions like rosacea or eczema, this could potentially cause a reaction.
- Preservatives: The preservative Phenoxyethanol is present. While generally safe at low concentrations, some individuals may experience irritation.
Eye Area Irritation
- Avoid Direct Contact: Be extremely careful to avoid spraying the product directly into your eyes. Close your eyes tightly during application.
- Tear Duct Irritation: If you are prone to dry eyes or are very sensitive, use caution around the eye area as the fine mist can travel.
Inhalation Risk
- Hold Breath & Spray: Avoid inhaling the mist directly. It's recommended to hold your breath for a second while spraying directly in front of your face, or spray it into the air and walk through it.
Application & Usage
- Shake Well: Always shake the bottle well before use to ensure the polymers and ingredients are properly mixed for an even application.
- Distance: Hold the bottle at arm's length (about 15-20 cm or 4-5 inches) from your face. Spraying too close can cause product buildup, disrupt your makeup, and increase the risk of eye irritation.
- Let it Dry Naturally: Allow the spray to air dry completely. Do not rub or blot your face, as this will disrupt the film-forming layer and reduce its effectiveness.
Storage & Handling
- Flammability Warning: The product contains alcohol derivatives. Keep away from open flames, sparks, and high heat (e.g., cigarettes, candles, while cooking). Do not puncture or incinerate the canister.
- Store Properly: Keep the bottle in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight. After use, please close the container tightly.
Who Should Avoid It
- Individuals with known allergies to any of the listed ingredients.
- Those with very sensitive skin or specific conditions (like contact dermatitis) that are triggered by common cosmetic ingredients like fragrance or certain preservatives.
- Keep out of reach of children. Do not use on children under three years old.
While generally safe for most, the key precautions involve avoiding eyes, being mindful of inhalation, performing a patch test for sensitivity, and keeping it away from fire.
