Core Principles First
- Skin Prep: Start with moisturized skin (let it absorb fully). Use a gripping primer (silicone-free if possible) on eyelids/face for maximum longevity. Oily skin? Target primer on T-zone/eyelids.
Tool Choice:
- Contour: Opt for a dense, angled synthetic brush (e.g., flat or angled contour brush). Synthetics grip silicone-based powders better.
- Shadow: Use synthetic shader brushes (packing/flat) for intensity or fluffy synthetic blenders (tapered, pencil) for diffused looks. Fingers work brilliantly for shimmers/metallics (body heat enhances blend).
- Product Pickup: Tap, don't swirl. Swirling kicks up excess powder. Gently tap your brush/finger into the pan to load pigment evenly.
- Less is More: This formula is buildable. Start sheer and layer intensity gradually. Overloading creates patchiness.
Applying as CONTOUR (Typically the deeper/matte shade)
- Find Your Hollows: Suck in cheeks to locate the natural hollows below your cheekbones. Target the area just below the bone, never on the apple of the cheek.
Placement:
- Cheeks: Start near your ear (hairline level), applying the deepest point midway between ear and mouth. Draw a soft line downwards towards the corner of your mouth, stopping 2 fingers' width away from your lips. Blend upwards towards the ear, not down.
- Jawline: Apply lightly along the jawline edge, focusing under the chin to define.
- Forehead/Temples: Sweep lightly along the hairline and temples to recede.
- Nose: Use a tiny detail brush. Apply two thin lines along the sides of the bridge, starting below the brow bone. Blend meticulously.
Application Technique:
- Stamping First: Lightly stamp or press the loaded brush onto the target placement points. This deposits pigment precisely where needed.
- Blending Magic: Using a clean, fluffy synthetic brush (or the clean side of your angled brush), blend upwards and outwards using tiny circular motions. Leverage the formula's self-diffusing properties – don't drag. Blend edges into nothingness.
- Build & Sculpt: Need more drama? Repeat the step above (stamp fresh product, then blend with a clean brush). The buildable nature prevents muddiness.
This formula rewards a "Place, then Blend" approach. Its engineered slip and self-adhesion mean less effort for a flawless, airbrushed result. Trust the ingredients – let the silicones, oils, and surface-treated pigments do the work.
